Mappillai is a remake of the rajinikanth blockbuster with the same name. Though the new mappillai has a good star cast, it is a mere shadow of the original.
Directed by suraj the film has danush playing the lead, hansika motwani plays his love interest. The rest of the cast includes manisha koirala, ashish vidyarthy, vivek, satyan, raja and others. Produced by Nemichand Jhabak and Hitesh Jhabak, mappillai has music by Mani Sharma, Editing by Kishore and Cinematography by Sathish Kumar SR.
A lot of changes have been made in the script yet nothing much could be done to make it as interesting as the original one. Vivek’s comedy hardly makes us laugh anywhere. There are a lot of continuity mistakes in the film. There is hardly logic anywhere in the film. Music is bearable. There is no scope for acting for anyone in the film. Hansika could have chosen a better script for her debut in tamil.
One can watch the film for danush’s sake. After adukalam something better was expected from him. Story: Hanshika falls in love with danush after he save her life. At first danush portrays himself as a very good chap. Believing that manisha koirala accepts for their marriage. Later she comes to know that he is a total jerk. She tries to stop the marriage but they get married. After that manisha koirala tries to separate hansika and danush and what happens next is for you to watch.
